Icebreaker
- You can only talk to one person at a time.
- You can only write down the name of the person that you're talking to.
- You can only write down each person's name twice.
- Fill in as many blanks as you can!
For those who haven't done the reading:
For those who have:
- Break up into groups of 3-4.
- Talk to each other:
- What questions do you have about the Syllabus?
- What surprised, interested, worried, or excited you?
Divide and Conquer
- In your groups, choose a person to be a 1, a 2, and a 3. (If you have four in your group, the fourth person can choose whichever they want.)
- Split up! 1s with 1s, 2s with 2s, 3s with 3s, etc.
Expert Groups
- How will the class be graded? How does the Grading Contract work?
- What kinds of assignments can we expect?
- What are the important policies for the class?
Homecoming
- Return to your original groups and share what you learned.
- In your groups, build a list of questions you still have.
