Week 5Th

Journal Writing

Sample Portfolio Assessment

  • Read through the Portfolio
  • Fill out the Rubric
  • For each "No" answer, check off the reasons that apply, and explain your reasoning in the "Comment" box.
  • For each "Yes" answer, explain your reasons for saying yes in the "Comment" box.

Group Discussion

In your groups:

  • For each Outcome, come up with a list of evidence that the Portfolio does demonstrate the Outcome, and a list of evidence that it does not demonstrate the Outcome.
  • Having considered evidence for both possibilities, decide together Yes or No for each outcome.
  • Be ready to share your reasons and evidence back to the whole class!

Break

Taking Stock

Let's take a look back at Writing Project 2. Open up your best draft of that paper and read it over.

  • What are your first impressions? Do you think this is a paper you want to represent your work at the Final?
  • Looking at the Rubric, what problems do you see in the paper?
  • What steps would you have to take in order to get this paper ready for the Final?

Now, let's do the same thing with Writing Project 3.

Now, let's do the same thing with Writing Project 4.

Who's using what?

Which Writing Project do you plan to use for the Final Portfolio?
